Theo "Anniece" Young
Anniece Young passed from this life on January 15, 2017, at the age of 91, at her home in Paragould, Ark., to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born on September 7, 1925 in Rector, Ark. She married Sterling Fenton Young on March 25, 1945, at the age of 21, and together they raised three sons and three daughters,
During World War II, she supported her country by working at the war plant in Jacksonville, Ark. She worked at the Ely Walker Shirt Factory many years, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in dietary and eventually retired from Arkansas Methodist Hospital where she also worked in dietary. Her favorite pastime was crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Sterling Young; her parents, Troy O Smith and Erie A (Vangilder) Smith; one brother, JD Smith and one granddaughter,Audra Marie Bayird.
Survivors include her children, Wanda George of Springdale, Bill Young of Paragould, Bob (Pam) Young of Paragould, Joe (Mary) Young of Paragould, Linda Kahl (Richard) of Paragould and Debbie Bayird of Paragould; her 21 grandchildren, Michael George, Robert George, Stephen George, James Young, Elizabeth Young, Chris Young, Scott Young, Lisa Cross, Wendy Vickers, Penny Getson, Amy Elkins, Abby Young, Jacob Young, Joel Young, Daniel Young, Brittney Kahl, Brandon Kahl, Brock Bayird, Tyler Bayird, Seth Bayird and Emily Bayird, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
A woman of true virtue--she lived her life as a woman of faith, devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. A visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m., and will continue until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
