The Rector Cougars boys and girls teams were in action this past week. The boys squad split a pair of games, falling at Cooter (Mo.) last Tuesday then traveling to Strawberry on Friday night and beating Hillcrest. As for the Lady Cougars, after dropping a non-conference game at Corning last Monday they also made the trip to Strawberry on Friday, and fell to the Lady Screamin' Eagles.

The boy's squad visited the Cooter Wildcats last Tuesday, Jan. 10, and came out on the short end of a 66-42 decision. Friday night they were on the road at Strawberry, and brought home a 77-74 win over the Screamin' Eagles. With the win they extend their season record to 5-9 overall.

As for the Lady Cougars, they fell behind 10-3 by the end of the first quarter against Hillcrest, trailed 27-16 at the half, and faced a 42-27 deficit entering the fourth quarter--although the two teams played even at 15-15 in the final frame.

The Cougars boys teams were scheduled to be in action at home on Tuesday evening, as they were slated to host Northeast Arkansas Christian Home Educators of Jonesboro. Both the boys and girls will be in action next Tuesday, Jan. 24, as they'll host the Falcons of Crowley's Ridge Academy at RHS.
