In a sense, history repeated itself as John Hemingway participated in a special quail hunt Saturday at Liberty Hill Outfitters north of Rector. His grandfather, novelist Ernest Hemingway, was a frequent visitor to the Piggott and Clay County area, the home of his second wife, Pauline Pfeiffer. Hemingway was a noted hunter and enjoyed quail outings with his local friends. The special hunt, which also included a grilled quail lunch catered by Chow at One Eighteen of Paragould, was sponsored in part by Arkansas State University and the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Educational Center and Museum. Hemingway, a noted writer who lives in Montreal, was accompanied by his wife Kristina and son Mike. A feature story and photos of the event will appear in the spring issue of Delta Crossroads magazine.
