Bobby Gene Lightfoot
Bobby Gene Lightfoot, 80, of Piggott, Ark., passed away January 20, 2017, at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born September 16, 1936, in Holcomb, Mo., the son of the late Raymond and Daisie Pearl (Lowe) Lightfoot.
He was united in marriage to Charlene Tankersley on April 1, 1957, and to this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Faylon Lightfoot Sharp.
Bobby was a man of God and love God first and foremost. He was always proud to be an American, and served in the United States Army where he was a Radio Dispatcher during Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he served in the Army Reserves for eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Lightfoot of Piggott; son, Danny Gene Lightfoot of Piggott; daughter, Cynthia Sue Lightfoot Hall (John Robert Hall Jr.) of Yorkville, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua Hall (Brittani) of Batavia, Ill., Zachary Stewart (Sarah Marie Peter) of North Aurora, Ill., Blake Stewart (Jenny Pirbyl) of Yorkville, Ill., Ivan Lightfoot of Yorkville, Ill., Jedidiah Lightfoot of Yorkville, Ill., Toby Hall of Illinois and Cory Hall of California; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stewart, Xander Stewart, Mace Hall, Arkyn Hall and Alaina Stewart; a brother, Clayton Lightfoot of Sikeston, Mo. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Loy Culver officiating and Bock White assisting. Burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Mo. Pallbearers are John Hall, Danny Hall, James Whorton, Allen Edwards, Harold Tankersley and Mike Edwards. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
