The Arkansas Activities Association met recently and approved tournament host sites for the coming spring, and next fall's volleyball postseason. Among the schools getting bids were several regional sites, although the bids by our local schools were not successful.

The regional basketball tournaments will be held at Riverside for 3A-3, Carlisle will host 2A-North and Calico Rock will host 1A-2. The state tournaments will be held at Bald Knob, Quitman and Mount Ida respectively. All state finals will once again be played in the Hot Springs Convention Center.

Regional baseball tournaments will be held at Manila for 3A-3, Palestine-Wheatley for 2A-North and Armorel for 1A-2. State tourneys will be at Bergman (Harrison Parks) for 3A, East Poinsett County for 2A and Woodlawn (Cleveland County, south of Pine Bluff) for 1A.

Regional and state play for 3A-3, and 3A, will be hosted by Bergman (Harrison Parks) and Palestine-Wheatley will host the 2A-North regional while the 2A state softball tournament will also be played at EPC. The 1A-1 Regional, and the 1A state softball tournament, will be played at Harrison Parks and will be hosted by Lead Hill.

The state 3A track meet will once again be held at Prescott High School, with the Meet of Chaps in Russelville and the state cross country meet at Oaklawn Park, hosted by Lake Hamilton.

Late next October the state 3A volleyball tournament will be played at Hoxie High School, with the finals being played at the Hot Springs Convention Center around Halloween.

Both Rector and Marmaduke submitted bids for hosting tournaments, but were unsuccessful.
