Victorine Belote, age 95, of Roseburg, Ore., passed away January 24, 2017. She was born August 24, 1921, in Dresden, Tenn., to Venus and Myrtle Alexander both deceased.
Vickie married Cloyce Belote on Dec. 17, 1943, in Pontiac, Mich. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1993.
Her brother, Reginald, was killed in World War II at 21 years old, and her brother Ray and sisters Rozelle and Faye are all deceased.
She is survived by her son Terry Belote from Roseburg, Ore. and her daughter Sherry Hoppe from Valdez, Alaska. Vickie was also blessed with four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one "on the way."
She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, of Piggott, for 21 years. She was a very devout Christian and was saved when she was 13 years old. When she moved to Oregon with her daughter she was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, in Springfield, Ore., for 10 years.
Visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Hoggard and Sons chapel. Immediately afterward, she will be laid to rest in the Piggott Cemetery next to her husband, Cloyce.
