The entrants in the annual Hemingway-Pfeiffer Student Art Exhibition are on display at the Piggott City Market this week, and will remain available to the public for viewing through Saturday, Feb. 4. The market is located at 147 South Third Avenue, on the west side of the square, in downtown Piggott.

Now in its 15th year, the HPMEC annual juried art competition invites students within a 50-mile radius of Piggott to submit art for exhibition by the museum. This year, a total of 97 works were submitted by students in 11 different school districts in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Prizes for the competition are provided by the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum and Study Center of Piggott. It will be handed out during a reception for the students, and award ceremony, set for 1 to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 4.

HPMEC is an Arkansas State University Heritage Site located at 1021 West Cherry Street in Piggott. Tours are offered on the hour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
