Rector Lady Cougar Matison Dean has been selected to the all-star roster for the upcoming 12th annual Sun Senior Classic basketball games, set for Saturday, April 8, in Jonesboro.

Dean, who concluded her high school career earlier this year, will be playing on the white squad coached by Bay Lady Yellowjacket head man Braden Watson. They'll take on the blue squad, coached by Hoxie Lady Mustang head coach Mike Chipman. Both Watson and Chipman brought state championships back to Northeast Arkansas earlier this month with their respective teams.

The second game of the double-header will be the boys contest, with the two teams coached by Riverside's Buster Campbell and Nettleton's Mark McCord.

The girl's game is set to tip-off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, in the Don Riggs Hurricane Gym at Jonesboro High School. The boy's contest is slated to follow at 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, with the proceeds from the fundraiser benefiting the Newspapers in Education program of The Jonesboro Sun.
