Thomas O. Coyle
Thomas O. Coyle, 88, of DeKalb, Ill., died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
Born March 20, 1929, in Rector, Ark., Thomas was the son of Thomas and Thelma (Flowers) Coyle. "Tommy" graduated from Piggott High School in 1946, and married Maxine Green on May 28, 1971, in Carpentersville, Ill.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. He was employed by Caterpillar for 34 years and was a member of the Machinist Union.
Thomas was a member of the Church of Christ of Sycamore, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; son, Tim (Jamie) Coyle of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Kim (Brad) Burkhart of Oswego; grandchildren, Tim Winter, Amy Winter, Kyle Burkhart and Rachel Burkhart; step-grandchildren, Barry, Cory and Ethan Hassell; a great-granddaughter, Ajori Ketchelos; his siblings, Al Coyle of Scottsdale, Ariz., David Coyle of Savanna Ill., Rosemary Coyle, Donna Parks and Kathy Coyle, all of Piggott, Ark., and Norma Williams of Savanna, Ill., along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Wayne, Robert, Jim, Janie and Paul.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 27, at the Anderson Funeral Home, in DeKalb, with full military honors provided by DeKalb American Legion Post #66.
Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date.
