Icle Genetta Day Ward

Icle Genetta Day Ward, 86, of Rector, Ark., passed from this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo. She was born September 17, 1930, in Lepanto, Ark., and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ward was a longtime resident of Rector, a member of the Eastern Star, the First Baptist Church of Rector and a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed gardening and was a good caregiver for anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Gladys Day; her husband, Orvel Ward; one daughter, Phyllis Jane Ward; and two brothers, Daniel Alton and Charles Elvie Day.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Pam) Ward of Jonesboro; one brother, Hubert Day of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Steve Ward of Rector, Kristina Ward of Jonesboro, Brandi McFadden of Paragould and Jason Morris of Memphis. Other survivors include six great-grandchildren, Caelum Ward Nicol, Caiden McFadden, Gaven Morris, Skylar Morris, Shelby Ward, and Macy Ward; and four nieces.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April, 14, at Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 15, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, with Laramie LeQuieu officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are David Romine, Jason Morris, Bryan Shannon, Scott Kirkland, Don Kirkland and David Jones.
