Junior Mohawks Split Pair

Thursday, April 13, 2017

The Piggott Junior Mohawk baseball team pushed their record to 5-1 last week, traveling to Marmaduke and pounding the Junior 'Hounds 16-0 in a mercy-rule shut-out. The following day they travelled to Manila for a make-up game, and dropped a short-handed loss to the Lions to fall to 5-2 on the season.

At Marmaduke last Friday the Junior squad spread the work around, as Nate Lemmons, Chris Collins, Tanner Dixon, Brandon Palmer and Logan Ralph all pitched an inning of shut-out ball.

The Tribe scored early and often, as Dixon and Michael Parker both tripled in the contest.

Saturday morning the majority of the squad travelled to Manila for the make-up contest, and fell by a final score of 11-1. Brandon Seal scored the lone run for the Tribe in the top of the first, and from there it was all Lions.

The Junior Mohawks are scheduled to be back in action Thursday, as they'll travel to Valley View and take on the Junior Blazers.
