Adon Mann, 81, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at his home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born September 28, 1935, in the Piggott, Ark., area to Everett and Artie (French) Mann.
He and Ina Rae (Johnson) Mann were married September 3, 1960, at Black Rock, Ark. She passed away September 2, 2016.
Adon graduated from Piggott High School in 1955, and from Arkansas State University, after which he taught history and civics at Piggott High School for several years. He then moved to Cape Girardeau and worked for MetLife, retiring in 2001. After retirement he worked as a substitute teacher at Jackson High School and Cape Central High School, and as an independent insurance representative and annuity broker for several years.
Adon was converted to the Christian faith as a teenager, and was a member of Maple United Methodist Church.
He and his wife, Ina Rae, loved spending time with their family.
Survivors include his son, Kevin Johnson Mann, grandson Cole Johnson (Chelsea) Mann, two great-granddaughters, Alana and London Mann, all of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two brothers, B. J. "Sunny" Mann, of Fort Smith, Ark. and Eugene (Jan Lea) Mann, of Piggott, Ark.; two sisters, Jane Cote, of Kennett, Mo. and Frankie (Jack) Towne, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; sister-in-law, Kathy Mann, of Cape Girardeau, and brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Nichols, of Piggott, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
