George Eli "Skip" Britton

George Eli “Skip” Britton, 68, of Pollard, Ark., passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born on April 23, 1949, in Campbell, Mo., to Imogene Finley.

He was united in marriage to Dolores Britton on May 21, 1969, and to this union they had two children, John Britton and Thrista.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Finley; his Auntie, Juanita Thompson; son, John Britton; grandson, Zebadiah Chase; and niece, Sara Zink Tucker.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Britton of Pollard, Ark.; daughter, Thrista Chase and husband Brandon of Pollard; grandchildren, Colton and Hannah Poole of St. Francis, Ark., Login Mooneyhan of Piggott, Ark., Corbin and Jessica Chase of Pollard, Destini Chase of Pollard, Jeremy Toombs of Piggott, Kortney Smart of Piggott, Kaleb Toombs of Piggott, Dalton West of Nimmons, Ark. and Dylan West of Nimmons; great-grandchildren, Gertrude Shasta Faye Chase, Alyssa Raye Lynn Chase and Braxton “Beans” Chase (Skip’s best friend); a sister, Teresa Tucker and husband Jim of Piggott; niece and nephew, Stephanie and David Tucker; great nephews, Colton and Jayden, along with other brothers and sisters whom he loved.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Mo., with Mike Akers officiating. Pallbearers were Corbin Chase, Login Mooneyhan, Colton Poole, Cody Mantz, Brody William, Jeremy Toombs, K.B. Toombs and Brandon Chase. Honorary Pallbearer was Braxton “Beans” Chase.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements.
