SCCC Mothers Day Scramble Held
The Sugar Creek Country Club, of Piggott, hosted its annual Mother's Day Scramble on Sunday, May 14. Taking first place in the championship flight was the team of Mangold and Prichard with rounds of 59 and 57 for a score of 116. The second place team of Burton and Jenkins was three strokes back at 119, after shooting rounds of 59 and 60; third was Gossett and Stallcup with a 120, after they shot rounds of 59 and 61 and rounding out the field was the team of Benson and Hardin with a 124, with rounds of 63 and 61 to their credit.
In “A” flight there was a tie for first place with two teams carding 130s. The team of McMillion and McMillion shot rounds of 65 and 65 while the team of Jones and Montgomery carded rounds of 67 and 63. Third place went to the team of Langley and Coomer with a 131, as they had rounds of 67 and 64 on the day.
In “B” flight the first place honors went to the team of Field and Whitlow with a 136, as they shot rounds of 70 and 66. And, there was a tie for second, as the teams of Knauts and Knauts and Cross and Winter both shot 139 on the day.
Organizers report a total of 24 teams took part in the annual Mother's Day Scramble at the local course.
