Thursday, June 1, 2017

Art lovers will gather at 6:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 3, as the Clay County Arts Council will host A Celebration of the Arts, honoring Piggott State Bank and Rector Downtown Drug. The event is a reserved seat dinner and program. Tickets may be purchased prior to the event for $35 each at Rector Water Department and Honeysuckle and Home in Rector and The Nest or Piggott City Market in Piggott.

Tables of twelve assure plenty of neighborly conversation in a beautiful setting. The Traveling Wisk serves a delicious dinner with desserts and decorates with flair. The four scholarship recipients will be on hand and introduced to the audience. Entertainment will be a performance by Tapestry, the favorite close-harmony duo of Sherry Jennings and Chrissy Pazanowski.

The State Rep. Joe Jett will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Brief testimonials will be given highlighting the work of the honorees for their communities and for the Clay County Arts Council. A Proclamation from the Arkansas House of Representatives will be presented to Piggott State Bank and Rector Downtown Drug and the Arts Council will present to each a lovely gift in recognition of their service to the council and the communities.

The event promises a great evening honoring very special businesses in Clay County.

“The Traveling Wisk can always be counted on to offer delicious entrees, vegetables, salad and desserts. The decorations will be beautiful. The Rector Community Center will look like a ballroom when the ladies of the Traveling Wisk decorate the tables with fresh flowers,” said Tracy Cole, vice-president of Clay County Arts Council.
