Piggott RC Modeler Club to Host Fly-In
The Piggott Radio Control Modelers will host their 22nd annual spring RC airshow this Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, at the Pfeiffer Field RC Park. The event will be going on both days, and there is no charge for admission. Those wanting to participate and fly their RC aircrafts must have AMA insurance and pay a $10 landing fee.
The show will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, with registration and open flying. At 1 p.m. the first round of combat flying will be held, then opening flying. At 2 p.m. there will be a new event, as a auction of radio control related items is held. Organizers note there is a 10 percent seller's fee, and rights to reserved bids is maintained. There will also be a raffle of donated, and purchased, items including planes and equipment.
Saturday night the field will be open to those interested in night flying.
The show will continue at 9 a.m. Sunday with registration and open flying. Following a break from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch, the second round of combat flying will be held, followed by open flying.
Once again the field will be open after dusk, allowing additional night flying for those who are interested.
The event regularly draws pilots from several states, as they'll be displaying their acrobatic skills along with pattern and sport flying. Two new airplanes will also be given away during the raffle. The local club also invites folks who are interested in the sport, and will be providing free flying lessons.
