Both the Rector and Piggott public libraries honored “community heroes” during last week's Summer Reading Program. A large crowd attended at Rector, which included personnel from the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Rector PD, Rector Fire Department and Survival Flight. Later, at Piggott a total of 154 children and adults were in attendance with personnel including the sheriff's department, Piggott PD, Piggott Fire Department, Piggott Community Hospital EMTs, lifeguards from the Piggott Public Pool, MLWS workers and Survival Flight. The annual series will wrap-up next Wednesday, June 28, with the traditional performance by the Kinders.
