Irene Eva (McDonald) Stout
Mrs. Irene Eva (McDonald) Stout, 93, formerly of North Little Rock, Ark. and Union City, Ga., passed away Thursday June 22, 2017, in Fayetteville, Ga.
She was born near Pollard, Ark., on August 24, 1923. Mrs. Stout had previously been a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Henderson and Jessie Mae (Keas) McDonald of Piggott, Ark.; her husband, Edgar Marshall Stout, Sr. of North Little Rock; her sister, Opal Mae (McDonald) Nicholas of Pollard; and two brothers, Robert McDonald of Clare, Mich. and John McDonald of Detroit, Mich.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Prince of Peachtree, Ga.; her son, Marshall Edgar Stout of Scottsboro, Ala.; four grandchildren, Kari Lee (Prince) Adams of Peachtree, Ga., Marshall E. Stout, Jr., of Chattanooga, Tenn., Michael E. Stout of Apex, N,C. and Mackenzie E. Stout of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and six great-grandchildren, Megan Blanchard of Peachtree, Ga., Savannah Stout, Maddox Stout, Darby Stout and Hadley Stout of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Jorja Stout of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Mrs. Stout graduated from Piggott High School and from Draughons' Business School in Little Rock. She worked as a secretary at Lakewood Methodist Church, in North Little Rock, for 13 years, then worked overseas as a Foreign Service secretary for the U.S. Department of State for 16 years in several locations, including Santiago, Chile; Manila, Philippines; Brasilia, Brazil; Panama City, Panama; The Hague in the Netherlands; and Freetown, Sierra Leona.
Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Memorial Gardens, North Little Rock, and lead by her grandson, Mackenzie Stout, on a date yet to be determined. Interment will be at Edgewood Memorial Gardens, in North Little Rock, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
