Gary Bruce Holcomb
Gary Bruce Holcomb, 72, of Piggott, Ark., passed away June 27, 2017, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark.
He was born May 27, 1945, in Pollard, Ark., and was the son of the late Sidney and Bessie Geneva (Branson) Holcomb.
He was united in marriage to Sue Burns on Oct. 25, 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Trent Holcomb; sisters-in-law, Jan Rose Holcomb and Charlene Holcomb; and brother-in-law, Riley Brewington.
Gary worked with his brother, Garland "Bud" Holcomb, in masonry for many years. He loved fishing and also enjoyed quail hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Holcomb of Piggott; two daughters, Fonda Tate and husband Paul of Arnold, Mo. and Susan Holcomb of Piggott; three grandchildren, Nicolas Tate, Madison Pool and Randy Pool; three brothers, Dewey Holcomb and wife Paula of Piggott; Garland "Bud" Holcomb and wife Sonya of Piggott and Steve Holcomb and wife Gail of Piggott; a sister, Glenda Brewington Cookeville, Tenn.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Jack Cole officiating. Burial is in Holcomb Cemetery, located near Pollard. Pallbearers are Paul Tate, William Holt, Donnie Holcomb, Glen Ervin, Lance Holcomb and Jason Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers are Gaylon Coomer, H.A. Wellman, Eddie Lovins and Brad Montgomery. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, and will continue until service time at the funeral home.
