Johnny Blake Moody
Johnny Blake Moody, 61, of Greenway, Ark., passed away July 22, 2017, at NHC in Kennett, Mo.
He was born on October 17, 1955, in Piggott, Ark., and was the son of Geraine and Betty (Blake) Moody.
Johnny was a longtime member of South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, but most recently he was a member of Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, Mo.
He farmed in the Clay County area for many years and during his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. He also loved animals.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Moody, of Piggott,; a brother, Larry Moody and wife Barbara of St. Francis, Ark.; his nephew, Chris Moody and wife Sarah of Poplar Bluff, Mo., great-nieces and nephews Avery Taylor, Camden Rylee and Easton Sawyer and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 24, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. with Richard Akins officiating and Alan Morris and Dr. Britt Burcham assisting. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery, in Piggott. Pallbearers were Joel Coomer, Chris Moody, Alan Morris, Kent Coomer, Kevin Gurley and Newton Wells. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Mikel, Matt Sutfin, Randy Caldwell, Larry Russell, Paul Hoggard and Steve Bell. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Children's Home in Paragould, Ark.
