Former Piggott Alderman Ronny Dixon Dies at 64
Former alderman Ronny F. Dixon, of Piggott, died suddenly Monday, August 7, 2017, at Piggott Community Hospital. He was 64 years old.
A native of Piggott, and graduate of PHS, he was a second generation businessman having inherited Dixon Radio and TV in 1977 following the death of his father, Vernon. He continued to operate the business until it closed in 1999.
He was a member of the Piggott City Council for 10 years, and served 20 years as a member of the Piggott Fire Department, attaining the rank of captain. In later years he worked for Casino Aztar and Anchor Packaging, then took a job with SourceGas in 1999 from which he retired in 2015.
He was also a long-time, and active, member of the First Baptist Church of Piggott.
