Returning once again to open the Labor Day weekend in Rector will be Friday night’s showcase concert, the Ultimate Oldies Show. For this year's edition the curtain goes up at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, at the Rector Community Center. Event organizers note concessions will be offered prior to the concert and at intermission.

A limited number of reserved seating tickets are now available for $20 each, assuring an up-close-and-personal experience. Meanwhile, general admission tickets are still just $15. Reserved and general admission tickets may be purchased at Rector Water Department or may be held at the will-call table by contacting community center director Linda Robinson at 870-595-3035.

“Fans of the Ultimate Oldies Show often travel to the concerts from near and far,” an event organizer noted. “It does not matter to any patron of this ultimate rock ‘n roll show which decades are highlighted more than others, depending on which show is presented. With each show being arranged in a different format, everybody will hear their taste in music.”

In years past, band members have had their schedules rearranged at times. But, other talented musicians have been quick to step in at the last minute to keep the show rocking and rolling. In fact, the band has such a following that when any musician must find a substitute, regular concert-goers inquire about those missing.

Thanks to their many local performances, the band and the vocalists have become like family to the Rector community.

“Everyone is reminded to get their tickets as soon as possible,” event organizers added.
