Noel J.W. Roach
Noel J.W. Roach was born on September 22, 1913, in Milan, Mo., to Samuel Roach and Susie (Mitchell) Roach. He died Friday, September 15, 2017 in Michigan.
He moved to Arkansas where he married the love of his life, Wilma Bennett Presley, on Oct. 14, 1938, in Pollard, Ark. Noel moved his family from Arkansas to Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1947.
During his lifetime Noel worked for Kaiser-Frazer at Willow Run, Argus Camera and National Life and Accident Co. in Ann Arbor. Eventually he got back into the profession that he loved most, working the soil of the earth with his landscaping business. In his retirement years, he built bird houses and planted them in his yard. Each one was unique and people often stopped to take pictures of them. Another favorite past time he enjoyed was pitching horseshoes where he won several ribbons and trophies. He also kept busy gardening.
