Brown Charged With Murder in Marmaduke Shooting
Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington announced Friday that his office has filed formal charges against Adam Casey Brown, of Hornersville, Mo., for murder in the first degree. Brown, 37, is accused of shooting and killing Jeremy Green, 38, at the Valero gas station in Marmaduke on Aug. 4. His next court appearance will be in Greene County Circuit Court today, Thursday, Oct. 26.
The shooting, which had been described as a domestic incident which escelated, occurred around mid-morning at the gas pumps of the Valero station. Information released by the prosecutor's office indicated Brown and Rachelle Green met Jeremy Green at the station. It further noted surveillance video from the Valero station showed Brown pulling a pistol from his holster, pointing it at Green and firing the weapon. Green was struck and fatally wounded, he was prounced dead a short time later at a Paragould hospital.
Since shortly after the shooting, Brown has remained free on bond pending his next appearance.
