As October winds to a close, a number of events have been scheduled for the season.

The annual Rector Fall Festival will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 29, in Rector Memorial Park. The trunk-or-treat event is being hosted by the Rector area churches, and everyone is invited to attend. The festival will include bounce houses, games, prizes and hayrides. There will also be hot cocoa, hot dogs, popcorn and candy for those attending. There is no charge to attend, or enjoy the offerings, as the festival was planned as a free community event for the entire family.

Piggott Halloween

Members of the Piggott Community Alliance finalized plans for their annual trunk-or-treat event, set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Halloween night, Tuesday, Oct. 31. This year's event has been dubbed, “Fall-O-Ween Jesus” and the public is invited to attend and participate. As usual, the event will be held around the courthouse square in downtown Piggott. Organizers note there will be popcorn, candy and fun for all who attend.
