Thursday, November 2, 2017

A plea of not guilty was entered Thursday in Greene County Circuit Court, in Paragould, by the man accused in the shooting death of a Marmaduke man in early August. Adam Casey Brown, 37, of Hornersville, Mo., has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting of Jeremy Green, 38, at the Valero station in Marmaduke. Recently, Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington announced the filing of formal charges, leading to Thursday's appearance.

Afterward, Brown was released on $500,000 bond, which he had posted shortly after being arrested at the scene of the shooting. He will appear on Jan. 4, 2018, as the judge will hear pre-trial motions in the case, with the trial set for Jan. 16, in Paragould. If convicted, he would face either life in prison or a term of at least 10 years, not to exceed 40 years, behind bars.
