Both the Rector High School and Piggott High School marching bands had the honor of qualifying for the state marching contest held Monday in Little Rock. And, both had very successful days with the RHS band bringing home top honors in Class A while the PHS band was third in Class AA.

The performances on the field on War Memorial Stadium capped excellent seasons by both programs, and marked the first time the Rector Band has qualified for the prestigious state marching competition. As for the Mohawks, they returned to Little Rock to defend their state runner-up performance from last year, but came up just short among the 13 bands in their division.

Additional details on both bands may be found in the Nov. 8, edition of the CCTD.
