Liberty Hill Outfitters Hosts L.E.A.D. Hunt
Law enforcement officers and deputies from across Northeast Arkansas gathered at Liberty Hill Outfitters, located north of Rector, on Saturday, Nov. 4, for their second annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.) hunt.
“We've got 20 members of law enforcement taking part in this year's hunt thanks to a number of sponsors,” Liberty Hill owner Steve Crancer noted.
Two European style pheasant hunts was held Saturday, with both a morning and afternoon hunt. The hunt was sponsored by several corporate and individual sponsors, some of whom chose to hunt with the officers and deputies.
Between hunts there was a VIP catfish luncheon, prepared and served by John 3:16 Ministries.
Many of the birds were banded, with special prizes awarded to the lucky hunter bagging one. Among the special birds was a white pheasant, downed by Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller. Door prizes were also handed out during the lunch break.
There were also a number of special guests, including Sean Adams and Charles Dwyer, representing Retrieving Freedom and David Humke of glockparts.com Also on hand were Bob Snell and Archie Mason of the popular “Boom Time with Bob and Archie” show, as they filmed for a future episode.
“This is all about the members of law enforcement and the veterans we have on hand today,” Crancer noted. “They've given a lot and we're just trying to give back.”
