James Albert Morris
James Albert Morris, 81, of Piggott, Ark., left this earth for his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. He was born on December 31, 1935, at his home in the country near Rector, Ark. He was the son of D.M. (Buster) and Bessie Marie Morris who both preceded James in death.
James grew up with three brothers, Gerald, Irvin and Gary. Gerald, the oldest, preceded James in death. Irvin and Gary remain to carry on the Morris legacy.
James married Wanda Lee Zolman and to that union two sons were born, Stan and Kevin. Wanda left this earth on November 2, 1969. Their first born, Stan, has two sons; Shawn and Caleb, Stan is married to Lisa and they have one daughter, Mandy. Shawn is married to Stacy; Mandy, is married to Jason; and Caleb, is married to Lindsey. Their second son, Kevin, is married to Susan and they have two children. Courtney, who is married to Adam; and Cameron, who is married to Brooke.
After the death of his first wife, James married Wanda Krech Duncan and to that union Wanda brought two daughters, Tammy and Cynthia. Her first born, Tammy, is married to Randy Ellzey and they have two sons, Jamie and Thad. Wanda's second daughter, Cynthia, is married to Roger McDaniel and they have four children, Austin, who is married to Heather; Victoria, who is married to Drew; Alexandria; and Carrington.
James leave eight great-grandchildren, Elishia and his wife Anna, Dalton, Isaac, Kyleigh, Riley, Landon, Reese, and ZoŽ. James also leaves a host of family and friends.
He lived his whole life for this moment and we are grateful and privileged to celebrate his homegoing.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the First General Baptist Church, in Piggott, with Gary Morris, Chris Brantley, and Ron Black officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark. Pallbearers were Shawn Morris, Caleb Morris, Austin McDaniel, Adam Fiedler, Drew Woolverton, Carrington McDaniel, Cameron Morris, James Ellzey and Thaddeus Ellzey. Visitation was held Saturday evening at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark.
