Months of planning culminates this Saturday, Nov. 18, with the annual Rector Craft Show and Sale at the community center. The event will be going on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and promises something for everyone. The sale is being held in the comfortable confines of the Rector Community Center, and proceeds benefit continued upgrades to the facility.

Organizers note a breakfast of sausage, biscuit and gravy will be served beginning at 8 a.m., although the vendors will not open for business until 9. Door prize tickets will be on sale for one dollar each, and drawings will take place regularly throughout the sale hours, traditionally from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch of white beans and cornbread will also be served, which has proved to be a big hit in years past.

There is no charge for admission, and the show will be held in the Crockett Multi-Purpose Room, so weather is not an issue. “There will be food and bargains, items for decorators, gift-buyers and fashionistas,” a spokesperson noted of the event. “Those who have been waiting for just this kind of shopping experience are encouraged to shop until you’ve made multiple trips to your vehicle or until your children call wondering where you are.”
