RHS Boys Battle in Early Season Play

Sunday, November 26, 2017

The Rector Cougars are riding a bit of a roller coaster during the early season. On Friday night, Nov. 17, they traveled to Pleasant Plains and fell to the Screamin' Eagles of Hillcrest 59-57. A late basket by Tyson Durham proved to be the difference in the contest, as he scored with just over three seconds to play in regulation to give the home team the lead. It was the Cougar's third loss in a row.

On the positive side, the junior Cougars won their game at Hillcrest, posting a 46-38 decision.

The following Tuesday the squads visited Sloan-Hendrix, with the Cougar senior boys posting a lopsided 53-38 win. On Saturday, the Greyhounds returned the favor with a 67-63 victory over the senior squad in the first round of the WBC tournament.

They're scheduled to visit the Piggott Mohawks for a non-conference set on Thursday, Nov. 30.
