A holiday tradition continues on Saturday, Dec. 9, as downtown Piggott will come to life with the sights and sounds of the season. From 2 to 5 p.m. the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual Christmas Fest, with special guest Santa Claus.

A variety of vendors will be set up around the courthouse lawn, and the majority of businesses will be open as well. There will be free hot dogs for kids 16 and under, and free drawings for fun prizes—although you must be present to win. Santa will also be in his new house throughout the event, and everyone is reminded to bring their camera to capture the moment.

There will be a free toy drawing, and free hot dogs provided by First National Bank, Piggott Banking Center.

The day will be capped by the annual Piggott Christmas Parade, set for 5:00.Entries are still being sought for the annual parade. Registration and sign-up will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Piggott Elementary School. The winners will be announced following the parade. Those wanting additional information, or to register, may call the chamber office.

A bicycle drawing will also be held following the parade, with the bikes provided by Piggott State Bank and Aerial Bouquets. Organizers note you do have to be present to win.

Vendor space is still available, and those wanting additional information may call 870 598-3167 or email
