A long-time local tradition is scheduled to continue on Saturday, Dec. 9, as downtown Piggott welcomes the start of the holiday season. From 2 to 5 p.m. the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual Christmas Fest, followed by the Christmas Parade.

A variety of vendors will be set up around the courthouse lawn for the occasion, and the majority of businesses will be open as well. Santa will also be in his new house from 2 to 4:30 p.m., and everyone is reminded to bring their camera to capture the moment.

All children may sign-up for a free toy drawing, and receive a ticket good for a free hot dog compliments of First National Bank, Piggott Banking Center.

The day will be capped by the annual Piggott Christmas Parade, set for 5:30. Afterward, there will be drawings for kid's bicycles, provided courtesy of Piggott State Bank and Aerial Bouquets, but you must be present to win.

Organizers note vendor space is still available, and those wanting additional information may call the chamber office at 870 598-3167 or email
