RHS Art Students Hold Show
The works of RHS students was featured at an art show, held Monday, Dec. 11, at Shinndiggs, on Main Street in Rector.
Setting the stage were red draped fabric swaths, Christmas trees and black backing lengths which also draped from the ceiling. The student art was displayed on the black background. Music, hot spiced tea and cookies rounded out the ambiance at the local venue as those attending viewed the offerings.
Art teacher Joel Boyd noted he presents an annual show for the students and their parents each year, and indicated he looked forward to using Shinnidggs as the venue because of its easy access to Main Street. He also added it was important to him to display the student work using an artistic display.
The black drapes on which the art was displayed set a professional background for the pieces. At the back of the venue, using the wood wall as a backdrop, Boyd displayed a 3-D eighth grade project which used cardboard as the medium.
Boyd noted art from Rector students in grades seven through 12 were showcased, and there was a good turnout.
