Harrell Named All-State for Football Mohawks

The Arkansas Activities Association released the 2017 All-State football selections recently, and a member of the Tribe is included in those honored. Selected for his play at linebacker for the Piggott Mohawks this past season, senior Cade Harrell was selected from 3A-3.

Harrell, a two-way player for the PHS football squad, was an honorable mention last year as he was named to the All-State second team. This past season he recorded 119 tackles, or 10.8 tackles per game, including 77 solo tackles. He was also a key part of the Mohawk offense as a running back, and played on special teams as well.

Other conference members chosen included-Diamani Davis of Hoxie; Oshae Pruitt of Newport; Derrell Brown and Steveuon Fowler of Osceola and Demilon Brown, Kentavious Robinson and Dylan Trapp of Rivercrest.

All-State selections from 2A-3 included Gerry Bohanon, Jr., Ojoshua Bunton and Cordell Chase of Earle; Kaylob Boykin of Cross County; Eric Driver of EPC and Paul Coleman of Marked Tree.

Harrell, and the other members of the Mohawk football team, will receive their postseason recognition at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, as the Tribe holds their annual awards assembly.
