Sidney Ray Hollis
Sidney Ray Hollis, 78, of Paragould, Ark., passed away February 5, 2018, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
He was born on October 11, 1939, in Piggott, Ark., and was the son of the late Charlie and Linnie (Allmon) Hollis.
He was united in marriage to Oneda Sue Burris on January 10, 1959, and to this union one daughter was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Hollis; a sister, Bea Gilbert; and granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Sanders.
He was a retired Tool and Die maker from Soundolier Sound Systems in St. Louis, Mo. and after retirement he moved back to Piggott, where he owned and operated a machine shop.
Sidney also loved living back on the farm where he grew up, and he enjoyed raising cattle and baling hay. He was a member of the Center Hill Church of Christ in Paragould.
Survivors include his wife, Oneda Sue Hollis of Paragould; his daughter, Debbie Sanders and husband Terry of Paragould; grandchildren, Chad Sanders of Paragould, Todd Sanders and wife Angel of Paragould and Megan Vann and husband Noah of Lafayette, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Adeline Sanders, Grayson Sanders and Sadie Sanders; his brothers, Jim Hollis and wife Barbara of Buda, Tex. and Elmo Hollis of Piggott; his sisters, Nancy Benson and Margie Wesserling, both of Piggott, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the South Thornton Church of Christ, in Piggott, with Terry Sanders officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Martin, Jim Christian, Noah Vann, Chad Sanders, Byron Moore and Todd Sanders.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held beginning at 12:30 on Wednesday, and will continue until the time of the service at the church.
