Cougars Set for Senior Night and District Play

The Rector Cougars will wrap up the regular season Friday night as they host the Piggott Mohawks for senior night 2018. The senior boys and girls will be in action, as the two squads prep for next week's 1A-3 East district tournament at Armorel.

Last week the boys posted a key win over Marmaduke 46-45 to nail down second place in conference, and a first round game with KIPP—a team they pounded Friday night by a final of 72-26. The contest will be played at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, at Armorel. The other first round game will see CRA take on Maynard in the 5:30 p.m. start in the boys bracket.With a win over KIPP in the first round, the Cougars will face top-seeded Armorel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the first semi-final.

In the lower half of the bracket, both Ridgefield Christian and Bay earned byes, with the Yellowjackets taking on the winner of the CRA-Maynard contest at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner of that contest will take on the Warriors of RFC in the other semi-final, set for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The third-fourth place game will be played at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, with the boy's bracket championship set for the late game that evening—scheduled to start around 8:30.

The Lady Cougars will take on the host Armorel squad at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, with the winner to take on Maynard in one of the semi-finals, set for 7 p.m. Wednesday. In the upper half of the bracket, Ridgefield Christian will take on KIPP at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face the top-seeded Bay girls in the other semi-final at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

The girls third-fourth place seeding game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, with the championship game slated for 7 p.m. at Armorel High School. All four of the top teams in both boys and girls will advance to regional play—also being held at Armorel.
