Cori Keller, of Stuttgart, was crowned Miss Arkansas State University 2018 on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the 44th annual pageant presented by the Delta Theta chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Named as third alternate was Madison Cate, of Rector.

Keller is an exercise science major and a Chancellor's List student. She also won the evening gown competition.

Cate, the daughter of Cam and Sherry Cate of Rector, is an elementary education major at ASU. Her platform was “Fighting Hunger,” which focuses on providing healthy food to the one in five Arkansans who don't know where their next meal is coming from. During the talent portion she performed the 1970s classic “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks. She was sponsored in the pageant by the women of Alpha Gamma Delta.

Emily Doggett of Jonesboro, an exercise science major, was first runner-up. She also was named Miss Congeniality and won the interview segment of the pageant.

The other runners-up included—Brooke Barnes, of Henderson, was second and Kylie Henderson, of Manila, was fourth. Barnes is a business management major and Henderson is a nursing major.

The pageant is an official Miss America Preliminary, prompting Keller to begin preparations immediately to compete in the upcoming Miss Arkansas Pageant.

Among her pageant prizes, Keller will receive a $5,000 scholarship from Arkansas State University.

The Pi Kappa Alpha chapter at A-State began sponsoring the Miss Arkansas State University Pageant in 1975.
