Cougars and Lady 'Hounds Set for State Tourney

The Rector Cougars will take on the Woodland Bears, from Rison, in the first round of the 1A state basketball tournament at Morrilton at 11:30 a.m. today, Monday, Feb. 26. With a win they'll advance to play Kingston on Tuesday.

The boys in blue set their bracket spot Saturday afternoon as they fell to ICC 40-38 in the regional seeding game.

The Marmaduke Lady Greyhounds will be playing their first round state tourney game at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, against Westside-Johnson County. With a win they'll advance to take on Spring Hill at 7 p.m. on Friday. That tournament is being played at White County Central, located north of Searcy at Judsonia.
