Piggott Council Support Street Project
The Piggott City Council met in special session at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at city hall. The special gathering was called to address only one issue, passage of a resolution of support for a proposed street overlay effort.
The resolution was presented, and expressed the willingness of the City of Piggott to utilize state aid street monies for the overlay of West Clay Street. It was approved without dissent.
Recently, the city learned of the opportunity have the street overlayed in conjunction with a state project involving County Road 450, the Crockett Road. Under the program, the state will be doing all of the site prep and will overlay the street from the square to the city limits.
Several years ago a similar program was used to have the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department overlay North Fourth Avenue.
Following passage of the resolution, the council members voted to adjourn.
