The Piggott Lady Mohawk softball squad resumed play following spring break Monday, traveling to Cave City and beating their hosts 8-3. The contest had been set to be play at Piggott, since the Tribe began the season at Cave City, but was moved due to wet field conditions. Tuesday afternoon the squad was scheduled to host Hoxie, although the weather continued to play a role.

Lexi Herren got the start in the circle against the Cave Women, working all seven innings and earning the win. Herren gave up five hits and three runs, two earned, while striking out four and walking only one Cave City batter.

Senior Allison Kilbreath had a big game at the plate, as she went 3 for 3 in four plate appearances with a walk, driving in two runs and scoring two as well. Meanwhile, Abby Dutka was 2 for 3 for a pair of runs scorred, Earnhart helped her own cause with a 1 for 4 day, accouting for two RBI and a run scored. Also driving in runs were Madison Rahn and Hannah Powell while Alexis Russell drew a walk and was hit by a pitch, scoring both times she reached base.

With the win the Tribe extends their season record to 2-8 overall, as they pick up their first conference victory. In addition to Tuesday's game with Hoxie, the schedule was also in question as they were slated to take on Walnut Ridge on FridayŚweather permitting.
