The Rector Lady Cougars are awaiting their first round district tournament game at Armorel, although the squad has already punched their ticket to the upcoming regional at ICC. Coming into the bracket on a winning streak, the Lady Cougars are scheduled to take on the Bay Lady Yellowjacket at 10 a.m. this Thursday, April 26, at Armorel High School. In the other semi-final, the host Lady Tigers will take on Maynard with first pitch set for noon.

The two losers will meet in the third-fourth place seeding game at 2 p.m. with the district championship game to follow at 4, as the four-team bracket is completed in just one day.

Based on their finish at Armorel, the Rector girls will be playing in the first round of the regional at Izard County Consolidated on Thursday, May 3. All four first round games are set for that day, beginning at 10 a.m.

Last week, the team also took time to recognize the three seniors on the squad. The members of the class of 2018 include, Maddie Hobbs, Kyleigh Huckabay and Haleigh Ellis.
