Teachers at Rector High School have brought a popular national program back to the local school, thanks in part to the work of sponsor Stephanie Brandaberry. With her, and other teacher's assistance, the Renaissance Program has found new life.

The Renaissance Program seeks to celebrate academic achievements accomplished by students throughout their high school years. They're recognized for being on the A-B Honor Roll, All-A Honor Roll, for perfect attendance and for improved grades. Under the program the students are presented with white cards, gray cards and blue cards along with certificates of acheivement and homework passes.

On Wednesday, April 18, the students gathered in the RHS gym to receive their recognition. Those winning Renaissance Awards were also evident by their special t-shirts. This week, those qualifying for the program were to be treated to ice cream sundaes by the Rector Helping Hands Foundation.

RHS counselor Brittany Clark assists Stephanie Brandaberry as certificates and awards are distributed to achievement-minded students in the Renaissance Program.
