Schedule Set for 20th Annual Piggott Car Show
Last minutes plans are complete for the 20th annual Piggott Heritage Car Show, set for May 18 to 20.
Participants from previous shows will find little changed for the 20th edition, as the weekend will begin Friday afternoon with a chicken wing dinner at the First National Bank, Piggott Banking Center, pavilion on East Main Street for those registered. Afterward, the public is invited to attend the Miss Heritage male beauty pageant at 7 at the Piggott Community Center. Admission is $5 with the proceeds benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Saturday morning the Piggott Lions Club will be holding a pancake breakfast at the community center, open to participants and the public. They'll be serving from 6 to 10 a.m.
The car show will be going on throughout the day on Saturday, with judging set for around mid-day. The participants will also be treated to an evening meal, and will then line-up for the cruise to the downtown square. Saturday evening there will be live entertainment on the square featuring Rodney Pennington, of the Baldknobbers Theater in Branson.
Car show organizers will be handing out a variety of awards including, best of show for both vehicles and motorcycles, people's choice, ladies choice and the top 10 vehicles. All of those winners will also receive a denim jacket with the show logo embroidered on the back. The top five motorcycles will also be recognized and there are a number of specialty awards.
Registration is still open at a rate of $35, with additiional vehicles belonging to the same owner registered for $5 each. There is also a “Saturday only” registration fee of $20, which entitles the entrant to all judging and festivities on Saturday with the exception of the evening meal.
