LaRue Russell, 86, of Selmer, Tenn., formerly of Piggott, Ark., passed away July 5, 2018, at Selmer, Tenn.
She was born on October 2, 1931, in Pontotoc, Miss., and was the daughter of the late William McKinley and Mary Etta (Ramsey) Blagg.
She was preceded in death by her father, William McKinley Blagg; mother, Mary Etta Blagg; grandson, Chris Russell and siblings Edith Britt, Laura Moore, Joan Strnad and Kenneth Blagg.
Survivors include her son, John Russell of Adamsville, Tenn.; daughter, Martha Rickman of Selmer, Tenn.; grandchildren, Stacy Bradshaw and wife Amber of Caruthersville, Mo., Melissa Tedford and husband Greg of Selmer, Tenn. and Angie Russell; great-grandchildren, Brandan Bradshaw, Jonathan Tedford, Kailey Tedford and Cayden Tedford; a sister, Bobbie Russell of Piggott, Ark.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with O.H. Brooks officiating and Stacy Bradshaw assisting. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark. Pallbearers were Stacy Bradshaw, Brandan Bradshaw, Greg Tedford, Johnny Gardner, Justin Hooten and Zac Russell. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home, of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Saturday evening at the funeral home.
