Piggott Mohawk multi-sport standout John Jones, a member of the PHS class of 2018, has garnered more postseason honors as he has been selected as a member of the Best Under the Sun team by the Jonesboro Sun. Jones, along with several other regional and local athletes, will be recognized at the annual banquet set for Tuesday, July 31, in the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

“Johnny Football” as he was refered to by Coach Michael Harrell and his staff, was a back-to-back All-State selection for the football Mohawks. He was also a key part of the Mohawk baseball team, and competed at a high level for the track and weightlifting team as well.

Known for his strong work ethic, and sense of fair play, he did an outstanding job representing the Tribe throughout his high school career.
