Enjoying somewhat cool temperatures for the first weekend in August, the annual Greenway Picnic was held Saturday, Aug. 4, in that community. Thanks to the conditions, a good crowd gathered for the annual fundraiser, which benefits the continued upkeep of the Mitchell Cemetery.

At the end of the day Hannah Smart, of Piggott, was crowned Miss Greenway.

Afterward, the traditional cash drawings were held. This year there were three cash prizes awarded.

The winner of the $100 prize was Vicki Smith, who donated the funds back to the cemetery, and the winner of the $150 prize was Jerry Golden. The name drawn for the top prize of $200 was Kenneth Fort, and he donated the money to Gary Bradford for his efforts in taking care of the cemetery.

Event organizers thanked everyone who made the picnic a success.
