SCCC Hosts Two Gal Scramble

The Sugar Creek Country Club hosted the annual Two-Gal Scramble golf tournament on Friday, Aug. 18, with 22 teams participating in the 18 hole event. During tournament play, Sandy Dorton, of Dexter, had a hole-in-one on hole #2.

Taking first place in Championship Flight with a 66 was the team of Janice Hoffman, of Dexter, and Barbara Dalton, of Bloomfield. Second place went to Patty Robinson, of Poplar Bluff, and Vickie Long, of Cape Girardeau, as they carded a 72. Third was the team of Carolyn Williams, of Jonesboro, and Robin Zink, of Springdale, as they also shot 72 on the day.

Winners of “A” Flight was the team of Billie Clayton and Lee Ann Woodard, both of Kennett, as they shot 77. Second place was the team of Judy Watson and Sara Baltz, of Pocahontas, as they shot 78. The third place team also shot a 78, and was made up of April Gossett and Sandy Wright of Piggott.

Winners of “B” Flight was the team of Paula Calhoun and Martha Johnson, of Kennett, as they shot 80. Second place went to the team of Mary Wagley and Virginia Henry, of New Madrid, as they carded an 83. Finishing third was the team of Lorrie Rothe and Judy Vangilder, of Jonesboro, as they shot 84.

Lunch was served to the participants at the conclusion of the event.
