Thursday, October 4, 2018

Piggott School Board held a very brief special meeting the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 27, with only three items on the agenda for consideration.

In their first order of business, the board discussed the safe room bids, of which they unanimously agreed to accept the lowest submitted. The low bid comes from Clark General Contractors, from Walnut Ridge, in the amount of $1,098,960, $600,000 of which will come from monies provided by FEMA. Three bids on the project were received.

Additionally, the board discussed the approval of the purchase of a 10-ton air conditioning unit for the administration office. The bid by D&G Plumbing and Heating, of Piggott, was in the amount of $9,200. The board voted to unanimously approve accepting the bid.

Furthermore, the board unanimously approved the annual financial report for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years, while the reading of minutes from the previous meeting was waived.
