James Kenneth Webb
James Kenneth Webb was born November 15, 1938, to the late James Daniel and Grace (Parham) Webb. He passed away October 9, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ark. He was a 1957 graduate of Rector High School, and also graduated from Arkansas State University.
After graduation he moved to St. Louis, Mo. for several years. He also worked for Allstate Insurance and lived in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was retired.
As an avid genealogist for over 50 years, he had traced his family back to the Revolutionary War and The Jamestown Society.
He married Nancy Boyd on June 2, 1962, and they were married 43 years. She passed away August 4, 2003. He then married Alma (Mills) White in 2005, and they returned to Rector in 2009. In 2014 he went back to Arkansas State University, and at the age of 78 he graduated with a Master Degree in History. He was also a member of Rector First Baptist Church.
Kenneth is survived by his and Nancy’s children, Teresa (Tom) Rimer of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kenda (David) Girod of Jackson, Mo., Kevin (Sarina) Webb of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Kimberly Hottes of Jackson, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Ethan) Young, Michael (Lauren) Rimer, Jennifer Rimer, Garrison Steel, Samantha Steel, Dylan Hottes, Amanda, Emily and Bryce Webb; one great-grandson, Liam Young; one sister, Virginia Louise McCord of O’Fallon, Mo.; his wife, Alma, of the home and her daughter, Judy Kellogg of Yukon, Okla., and her three granddaughters, Hannah, Grace and Sarah Kellogg.
Besides his parents, and his wife Nancy, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyne, Joe and Bryce Webb;, a grandson, Gregory Steel; and a son-in-law, Jeff Steel.
Visitation will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Irby Mitchell Funeral Home, on Hwy. 49 in Rector. The service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rector Community Museum.
